Castle Events opened a new wedding venue in the courtyard of Teleki Castle in Gornești, Mureș County. It gives couples an elegant setting, a baroque monument for photographs and a purpose-built ballroom for the party. I have photographed here and it is one of my favourite venues in Transylvania, because the architecture and the gardens offer a different frame for every part of the day.
How to get to Teleki Castle in Gornești
Teleki Castle is a historic baroque monument just 17 km from Târgu Mureș, on the left bank of the Mureș river. It is easy to reach and simple to find, which matters when guests travel in from different cities.
The ballroom: a dedicated space for the party
Weddings used to be held inside the castle, but the rooms were not ideal for large parties. Castle Events solved this by building a ballroom designed for weddings and events.

A real wedding at Teleki Castle
I photographed Blanka and Otto’s wedding here. After the church ceremony in Târgu Mureș, we drove to the castle for the party. During the cocktail hour the afternoon light was excellent, so I suggested a short photo session away from the guests.
