Wedding photography services in Bucharest

Hi, I'm Daniel, a wedding photographer in Bucharest.

If you have landed on this page, it means you said YES and you are now in the middle of planning: browsers with dozens of open tabs, supplier lists and searches for “wedding photographer Bucharest”. First of all, congratulations from the bottom of my heart on your engagement! 🎉 It is a beautiful decision that deserves to be celebrated properly.

I know that after the joy of the first moment comes the less romantic part: planning. Budgets to respect, suppliers to choose, decisions to make (and sometimes a little overwhelm, especially in a big city like Bucharest). Let's make choosing your photographer the simplest item on your list. My role is to capture your day exactly as it happened, with the spontaneous laughter, the tears of happiness and all the moments that make it unique for the two of you. No rigid poses or forced direction, only authentic photographs you will look at fondly for years.

My style: documentary wedding photography

I like to photograph the day exactly as it unfolds: with moments of joy, a little beautiful chaos, the emotions of the ceremony and the energy of the dance floor.

After dozens of weddings photographed in Bucharest and across the country, I have understood that the most valuable photographs appear when you completely forget about the camera and focus on each other. I want you to feel me as a friend with a camera in hand, not as a supplier giving instructions at every step. I let you live the day while I quietly document everything happening around you.

  1. 01

    The big moments

The ceremony, the entrance into the restaurant, the first dance, the cake: every shot you have been thinking about for months.

  2. 02

    The small moments

The father's hand on the groom's shoulder, the grandmother crying quietly, the friends waiting for you outside the church.

  3. 03

    The portraits

Half an hour just for the two of you, in the most beautiful light of the day. I tell you where to stand, the rest comes naturally.

Packages and services – wedding photographer

My services are designed to cover your whole story, from the Save the Date to the final album. Here is what you can choose:

Wedding photography – Save the Date session
01

Save the Date session

It is the ideal occasion to get to know each other and to get used to the camera in a relaxed, stress-free atmosphere. We capture your real connection, resulting in photographs that work perfectly for invitations, your wedding website or social media. This experience gives you the confidence that on the wedding day you will feel natural and relaxed in front of my lens.

Wedding day

I will be with you from the preparations to the cake, capturing the story exactly as it unfolds. I carefully document the details you worked on for months, but above all the people and their honest reactions. I capture the meaningful moments that, in the rush of the day, you may not get to notice yourselves.

How I document the wedding day
Wedding photography – Trash the Dress session
03

Trash the Dress session

After the wedding, we are free to choose a spectacular location: the sea, the mountains or an unconventional urban setting. It is the ideal occasion to enjoy each other in a relaxed atmosphere, resulting in the boldest and most spectacular photographs in your family portfolio.

Photo albums

I am a big fan of printed albums, the place where photographs truly come alive. We make the selection together, you choose the cover from a wide range of colours and materials, and I take care of the design so it tells your story in chronological order. It is the most beautiful way to keep the memories alive, in an object you will gladly leaf through for years.

Civil wedding in Bucharest

If you are only getting married civilly, or the civil ceremony is on a different day than the wedding, I have a separate package: the ceremony, the congratulations and a short photo session. Write to me with the date and the place and I will send you the offer.

What a wedding day looks like in Bucharest, through my lens

Every wedding has its own schedule, but the day usually follows the same story. Here are the moments I document in Bucharest and how we plan them together.

  1. Photograph from a wedding documented by Majos Daniel
    Morning

    The preparations

I start with the bride or the groom, as we agree. The dress, the suit, the rings, the invitation: I photograph the details while you do your make-up and get dressed, so we lose nothing of the emotion beforehand.

  2. Photograph from a wedding documented by Majos Daniel
    Midday

    First look

The moment you see each other for the first time in your wedding outfits. Either with everyone around or just the two of you in a quiet place; we choose it beforehand.

  3. Photograph from a wedding documented by Majos Daniel
    Afternoon

    The ceremony

Religious, civil or both. I move quietly through the church or the hall, and on the way out I wait with the guests for the congratulations and the group photographs.

  4. Photograph from a wedding documented by Majos Daniel
    Golden hour

    The photo session

About an hour before sunset the light is warm and soft. We slip away for 30–45 minutes from the party while the guests take their seats.

  5. Photograph from a wedding documented by Majos Daniel
    Evening

    The party

The entrance into the restaurant, the first dance, the speeches, the dance floor. I stay with you until the cake, guests' reactions included.

A few weeks before the wedding we go through the day's schedule together, so I know where I need to be and when.

Sunset time in Bucharest, month by month

The most beautiful light for portraits is the last hour before sunset. When you set the time of the ceremony and of the entrance into the restaurant, look at the table: in summer the sun sets late, and in winter the day ends early in the afternoon. That difference changes the whole schedule of the day.

The times are calculated for Bucharest, on the 15th of each month, in Romanian time. They shift by a few minutes from one day to the next, and the tall buildings of the city can “eat” the last minutes of light, which is why we start the session a little earlier.

How the collaboration process works

I organised everything so that working together is the most relaxing item on your to-do list. Here is the path from the first message to your photographs

  1. The first sign

    Step 1

You send me a quick message on WhatsApp or fill in the form below with the date and the location of the event.

  2. The conversation and the offer

    Step 2

I get back to you by email with all the details and an offer adapted to your plans. If you feel we need more clarifications, we can always talk by phone to settle everything.

  3. Booking the date

    Step 3

If we click and you decide you want to work together, we sign the contract online and you pay the date reservation. From that moment, the date is blocked in my calendar for you.

  4. Planning the details

    Step 4

A few weeks before the wedding, we discuss the day's schedule and the little details that matter: the special moments you are preparing or the group photographs with the family.

  5. The wedding day

    Step 5

I am with you from the preparations to the end of the party. I document everything quietly; most of the time you will forget I am there, which helps us get those natural shots.

  6. Your memories

    Step 6

In about 4–6 weeks, you receive the private online gallery. The photographs are in full resolution, without logos, ready to download and share with your loved ones.

How much do wedding photography services cost?

Every wedding has its own story and needs: some couples only want the day documented, others add Save the Date, Trash the Dress and photo albums. That is why my offers are flexible and adapt to your plans.

Bucharest is a city with a distinct energy, and its diversity offers completely different settings from one wedding to the next. As a wedding photographer in Bucharest, I know these spaces well and adapt quickly to any environment, making sure the light and the atmosphere of the place work in your favour.

Whether you are planning a grand wedding or an intimate one, I have experience in top venues in the capital, such as:

Restaurants and villas with generous gardens in areas such as Floreasca, Herăstrău or Snagov, perfect for couples who want an outdoor wedding without going far from the capital.

Where we do the photo session in Bucharest

If the wedding venue has a garden, a terrace or a lake around it, we do the session right there and lose no time in traffic. If you prefer the city, here are the places that work well for portraits:

  1. Herăstrău Park and the lakeshore

Wide paths, water and greenery at sunset. It works in every season and takes you out of the city's bustle.

  2. Cișmigiu and the old town

A park with storybook paths, while Lipscani and the streets around it bring old façades and light slipping between the buildings.

  3. Mogoșoaia Palace

Brâncovenesc architecture, an inner courtyard and a park, on the edge of the city. For elegant frames with history in the background.

  4. Lake Buftea and Snagov

The lakeshore and jetties, half an hour from the city. Suited to a Save the Date or Trash the Dress session.

Tips for couples planning a wedding in Bucharest

Organising a wedding in Bucharest comes with its own challenges, and choosing the photographer is only one of the important decisions. Here are a few practical tips based on my experience with weddings in the capital:

Photograph from a wedding documented by Majos Daniel
  1. Book the photographer early.

Bucharest is the busiest wedding market in Romania, and good photographers are booked 12–18 months ahead, especially for summer weekends. If you have a date in mind, do not put it off: start looking as early as possible.

  2. Take traffic into account.

Bucharest is known for congestion, especially on weekends with several events. Plan the moves between venues with extra time, so the schedule of the day is not affected by unexpected delays.

  3. Plan time for the photo session.

Golden hour, the hour before sunset, gives the most beautiful light. Try to organise your schedule so that you have 45–60 free minutes in that window; the parks of Herăstrău, Cișmigiu or the grounds of Mogoșoaia Palace offer superb frames at that hour.

  4. The required documents.

If you are also planning the civil ceremony, make sure all your documents are up to date. I created a complete guide to the documents required for marriage where you will find everything you need to know. For more on planning, take a look at the step-by-step wedding planning guide as well.

  5. Make a list of the group photographs.

Write down on a sheet the groups you want (grandparents, godparents, university friends) and give it to a family member who knows everyone. The group photographs then take 15 minutes, not an hour.

  6. Prepare a rain plan.

Ask the venue what covered space it has for the ceremony and for portraits. With a plan B set beforehand, rain becomes just another backdrop; transparent umbrellas look great in photographs.

Wedding photographer in other cities too

I live between Cluj-Napoca and Târgu Mureș, but I photograph weddings all over the country and abroad, including Bucharest.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions – Wedding photographer Bucharest

Short answers to what couples ask me most often. If you don't find what you are looking for here, write to me.

Wedding photography prices in Bucharest start from 1,849 EUR for the standard package: full documentation of the day and an online gallery with all the photographs professionally edited. The price varies depending on the services you add: Save the Date, Trash the Dress, printed photo albums. I prefer to talk directly with every couple so I can give an offer adapted to your needs, with no surprises or hidden costs. The details are on the page about the price of a wedding photographer.

Yes, gladly! Although I am regularly in Bucharest, I document stories wherever my passion for photography takes me. I work regularly in the big cities of the country: Cluj-Napoca, Brașov, Timișoara, Iași, Sibiu or Constanța. If you dream of a wedding in a special destination, I invite you to explore the Destination Wedding section with galleries from Italy, Spain, Greece or more exotic destinations.

Most couples book me 9–16 months before the wedding. Saturdays from May to September fill up first, so if you already have the date and the venue, write to me as early as possible. For a closer date, ask anyway; sometimes I have free days.

For weddings in Bucharest I tell you in the first offer whether there are transport or accommodation costs, depending on the venue and the schedule of the day. Write to me with the date and the location and you get everything clearly, with no surprises.

We set a plan B in good time: a covered corner of the venue, a terrace, a hall with large windows. The light after rain is often very beautiful, and transparent umbrellas look good in photographs. If the weather is truly bad, we can move the portraits to another day, as an after-wedding session.

Yes. Wedding albums are made from your selection, with an eco-leather or nubuck cover and a chronological design, and start from 499 lei. See the formats and materials on the wedding photo album page.

Editing the photographs takes about 4–6 weeks, depending on the complexity of the event and the season. But within the first 1–3 days after the wedding you receive a preview with 50–80 of the most beautiful moments, to show family and friends and to post on Instagram. All the final photographs arrive in a private online gallery, active for at least one year, from where you download them in full resolution.

I do not personally offer videography services, but I collaborate with trusted videographers from Bucharest whom I can recommend with conviction. They have a documentary style similar to mine and we make a close-knit team. If you want both photo and video, I can put you in touch directly. You will find a few on the page with recommended wedding suppliers.

We sign the contract online, and the date is blocked in my calendar once the booking fee is paid, which is 30% of the contract value. The remaining 70% is paid after the wedding, within 5 working days at most.

Yes. For a civil wedding in Bucharest you receive a personalised offer, depending on the date and the place of the ceremony. The details about how I work at a civil wedding are on the page about the civil wedding photographer.

Yes, I always arrive prepared with backup equipment so that nothing stands in the way of the special moments. Over the years I have learned that any camera gear can fail at any time, which is why I have a backup for everything.
