A wedding photographer in Romania costs between roughly 300 and 600 EUR for a beginner and 1,200 to 2,500 EUR for an established professional, with premium and destination photographers starting above 2,500 EUR. My own prices are from 349 EUR for a civil ceremony, from 1,849 EUR for a full wedding day, and from 2,800 EUR for a two-day wedding. Below you will find what each range usually includes, what moves the price, and how booking works.
I am Daniel, a documentary wedding photographer based in Cluj-Napoca and Târgu Mureș, working since 2014 with more than 190 weddings behind me. I would rather explain how photographer pricing works than hide it, because the right choice depends on what you need from the day.
Wedding photographer prices in Romania at a glance
These are the market segments I see in Romania. The figures are observations from the market, and individual photographers vary.
- Beginner, 300–600 EUR. A photographer at the start of the journey, often without backup equipment or a contract, with a small portfolio. A reasonable choice for a tight budget if you accept the risk.
- Mid-level, 600–1,200 EUR. A few dozen weddings behind them, decent equipment, delivery in two to three months. Editing is often done with presets applied in bulk.
- Professional, 1,200–2,500 EUR. Photography as a main profession, doubled equipment, a contract, an online gallery, individual editing and a limited number of weddings per year. This is where I work.
- Premium and destination, 2,500 EUR and above. Established names, two-day weddings, international travel, hand-made albums, sometimes a team of two or three.
My wedding photography prices
Civil ceremony: from 349 EUR
The ceremony at the registry office, a short couple session and an edited online gallery, from two hours up to the whole day. It also works for couples who choose a small civil wedding with close family. See the civil wedding photography package.
Full wedding day: from 1,849 EUR
The whole day, from the morning preparations to the party: the religious ceremony, the couple session, the moments at the restaurant, the guests and the details. Usually 10–14 hours of coverage, a preview within 24–48 hours and the complete gallery in 2–6 weeks. Read more on my page about wedding photography in Romania.
Two-day wedding: from 2,800 EUR
A dinner or a small party on Friday evening with family and close friends, and the wedding itself on Saturday. I am there for both, so the story in your gallery starts a day earlier. It is the usual format for destination weddings and a good choice when guests travel from far away and stay overnight anyway.
What changes the price of a wedding photographer
- Length of the event. A two-hour civil ceremony and a wedding from the first preparations to the midnight cake are very different amounts of work. A full day means 10–14 hours of photographing, followed by days of selection and editing.
- Location and travel. A wedding in Cluj-Napoca or Târgu Mureș, one at a castle in the countryside and one in Tuscany have different logistics. In Transylvania, travel is usually part of the price; for weddings abroad, transport and accommodation are calculated separately and discussed openly from the first conversation.
- Season and day of the week. Saturdays from June to September are booked first, sometimes more than a year ahead. A wedding outside the season, or on a Friday, leaves more room to talk.
- A second photographer. I usually work alone, to stay a discreet presence. If you have preparations in two places or want more angles, I work with photographers I know, and this is added to the price.
- The wedding album. The online gallery is always included. A printed album is a separate choice, because it depends on size, number of pages and cover material. See my wedding album page (in Romanian).
- Extra sessions. A save-the-date session, an engagement session or a trash-the-dress session the day after are additional sessions, each with its own shooting and editing time.

- Personal editing. Every photograph in your gallery goes through my hands, with natural colours and the feeling of the day, with no preset applied automatically.
- A preview in 24–48 hours, so you can show the first photographs to your family. The complete gallery arrives in 2–6 weeks.
- Professional equipment with backup. I always arrive with spare cameras, lenses and backup systems.
- Presence, not just a service. I am with you before the wedding too, with advice about light, schedule and locations for portraits.
- A private online gallery with full-resolution files, no logos, and the printing rights belong to you.

Booking the date and the contract
- The conversation. You send me the date, the location and how you imagine the day. I reply within two hours with a proposal made for your wedding.
- The contract. If we are a good match, you receive a contract with everything we agreed: coverage hours, what the package includes, the delivery time and the cancellation terms.
- The date reservation fee. The date is blocked with a reservation fee of 30% of the contract value. The remaining 70% is paid after the wedding, within 5 working days.
- Preparation. A few weeks before, we decide the schedule of the day and the places for portraits.

Most couples book me 9–16 months before the wedding. Popular Saturdays are booked even earlier. I accept only 15 to 20 weddings a year and then close the bookings for that year.
The online gallery with all edited photographs is always included. The printed album is a separate option, because the price depends on size, number of pages and cover material. You can add it any time, including after you see the photographs.
Usually the final edited photographs arrive within 2–6 weeks after the wedding. You also receive a preview within a day or two.

The date is blocked in my calendar only after the contract is signed and the reservation fee is paid, and until then it stays available for others. The reservation fee is 30% of the contract value, and the remaining 70% is paid after the wedding, within 5 working days. Cancellation terms are written clearly in the contract.
