About Bethlen Castle
Built in the 16th century, Bethlen Castle in Bahnea has been fully renovated and is now one of the most beautiful sights in the area, with well-kept surroundings. The renovation was supported by the Hungarian government. Today the castle belongs to the Transylvanian Reformed Diocese and works as a community space. It hosts a permanent exhibition about Transylvanian noble families and about the writer Árva Bethlen Kata (1700–1759), who was born in the building. The castle is now a popular destination for events, including weddings and photo sessions.
