Last summer I had the pleasure of photographing Cristian and Alexandra’s wedding at Hotel Privo in Târgu Mureș. They were surrounded by close friends and chose a venue that suited exactly the intimate wedding they wanted: elegant, relaxed and full of character.
Getting ready at Hotel Privo: Villa Csonka
When I talk to couples, I recommend getting ready at the hotel, and for good reasons. At Villa Csonka, part of the Privo complex, the preparations were exactly what they should be: relaxed, with champagne and good company, without guests arriving early at your home and without the stress of parents organising everything. Everything was within reach, and the atmosphere was ideal for natural photographs.
Getting-ready photos: why the hotel beats home
As a photographer I see a major difference between preparations at a hotel and at home. When the bride and groom get ready in similar places, the photographs keep the same look, cleaner and in tune with each other. At a hotel there is time for moments with close friends and a few glasses of champagne, without rushing.
First look at Hotel Privo
I arranged the first look in a quiet corner of the hotel reception, just the two of them with no spectators. It turned out natural and funny, exactly the kind of authentic interaction I look for in my photographs.
Villa Csonka: a wedding venue in Târgu Mureș
Villa Csonka is a true historic monument, not only a beautiful building. With 3,500 square metres of villa and park, it shows the dialogue between old and new, which is the idea behind Privo. Restored between 2011 and 2013, the villa keeps the atmosphere of the 1900s with original Thonet and Art Deco furniture, and it is more than 100 years old. Three double rooms and three deluxe apartments, each with a unique design, give a perfect setting for memorable photographs.
An intimate wedding at Hotel Privo
For smaller weddings, like Cristian and Alexandra’s, Hotel Privo is an excellent choice.
